Is a percolation test the same as a geotechnical investigation?+

No. Percolation testing focuses on water infiltration at selected locations and depths. A broader geotechnical investigation may be needed when foundation, excavation or slope questions also need to be addressed.

Who designs the stormwater or wastewater system?+

The relevant hydraulic, civil or wastewater designer uses the field results with their design criteria. Our report documents the ground testing and geotechnical observations within the agreed scope.

Can testing be completed where shallow rock or groundwater is present?+

Testing may still provide useful information, but shallow refusal, perched water or groundwater can limit the available absorption depth. We record these conditions and explain the resulting limitations.
